Silveira Drypack

Specialized substrate & shower preparation

Drypack and shower preparation, built to the millimetre.

Silveira Drypack prepares what the finish depends on: scratch coat, waterproofing membrane, drypack mortar beds and sloped shower bases — packed, screeded and checked so the tile that follows sits flat, drains properly and lasts.

Working with contractors, builders, renovators and tile professionals in Toronto, Ontario.

What we do

Four services. One discipline.

Every layer we build is a substrate for someone else's finish, which is why each one is set out, checked and detailed on its own terms.

The Silveira approach

Preparation decides the finish.

A tiled shower is an assembly, not a surface. Each layer — the substrate, the keyed base coat, the waterproofing plane, the mortar bed — has a job, and each one depends on the accuracy of the layer beneath it.

Once tile goes down, the substrate is no longer accessible. A bed that is out of plane, a fall that flattens near the drain, or a membrane detail rushed at a corner cannot be corrected afterwards without opening the work back up.

That is why our scope stops where the finishing trade begins. We concentrate on the layers that get covered, and hand over work that is measured, checked and ready to build on.

Process

Assess. Prepare. Build. Finish.

  1. 01

    Assess

Review the drain, substrate, framing, heights and access, and confirm what the assembly needs before any material is mixed.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Set the reference points and protect the area — lath, screed rails, drain height and perimeter lines established before packing begins.

  3. 03

    Build

Pack, screed and compact the mortar to the required plane or slope, then detail corners, curbs and edges by hand.

  4. 04

    Finish

Check the plane and fall, clean the area, and hand over a substrate the tile setter or finishing trade can build straight onto.

Proof of work

Real work, before it disappears under tile.

Floors, corners, drains and transitions documented on site — shaped by hand and checked before anything covers them.
